In the months of planning leading up to the total solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024, climate maps suggested that Texas would be a good place to go for minimized cloud cover. After flying out, I was very nervous to see storm warnings and even the potential for tornados on eclipse day! After a very overcast morning, the sun started to show itself and I was greeted to incredible views of the entire eclipse, right up until dark clouds covered the spectacle the instant totality ended. This composite image showcases the beautiful cloudy experience that myself and so many others witnessed.
